The violin, sometimes known as a fiddle, is a wooden chordophone that is played using a bow. Thanks to its ability to have continuous notes and slides, the violin has been used in classical music, even in Indian classical music, especially in Carnatic genre. Violinists and makers such as Stradivari, Amati and Guarneri are well known.
